This is the no-holds-bard Cat Ba Island Excursion. You’ll do more in one day on Cat Ba than some have done on their entire trip in Vietnam! Please refer to "Cat Ba Climbing Adventure" and "Cat Ba Trekking Adventure." Combine these two and you have a jam-packed day of excitement and activity. This trip includes lunch and some other extra perks!

 
Rock Climbing Beginner Instruction
Learn to be your own climbing guide

Duration: 3-4 hours on Cat Ba; or full day in Ha Long Bay
What could be a better place to learn the art of rock climbing than in Vietnam? Learning the art of walking on water! But we aren't certified to teach that. For rock climbing anyways we are!.
With little or no experience rock climbing our beginner instruction program will teach you all the fundamentals in order to safely and knowledgably climb and belay on a top-rope anchor system. Although instructional in nature it will be experiential learning loaded with excitement and activity. You’ll be climbing and belaying almost the entire time. After the program, if we feel that your skills are competent for belaying a top-rope system safely, we will award you with a belay certificate. You can then take this certificate home with you and show you local indoor rock climbing facility. Most facilities will acknowledge this certificate and allow you use the facility at your own free will! Let us show you the ropes!!!

Rock Climbing Advanced Instruction
Step it up a notch for your rock climbing future

You’ve had some prior experience rock climbing, but you want to step-it-up and really increase your skill sets on the rock. Reach into our pockets of knowledge and we can teach you anything from lead climbing to pro placement, bolting to top-rope anchoring, technique and how to climb stronger! This course can be tailored to your exact specifications.
You can also take a standard lead climbing course designed to teach you all the fundamentals for climbing from the ground up and graduate beyond the basics of top-roping. This coursed should be widely accepted by indoor rock climbing facilities around the world. Come get high in climbing wisdom!

As you’ve probably noticed by now, Halong Adventures is not your average tour company. Our goal is to take you to places and engage in experiences that are truly unique. Our Cat Ba climbing adventure is unlike any experience you’ll find in Ha Long Bay and Vietnam.
The day begins with a twenty minute motorbike ride first along the beautiful coast line and then into the lush green hills of Cat Ba. Soon you’ll find yourself in the remote and breath taking Butterfly Valley. As butterflies flutter around your head, we’ll have a short walk through the farm lands passing friendly water buffalo and cattle. But enough of the scenic mumbo jumbo… we’re here to climb the massive rock face that overlooks the valley!
You may choose from a variety of beginner through advanced routes. Your professional guides will then set up a top-rope system so that you may ascend the rock safely and worry free. Climb as high as you feel comfortable and don’t forget to look down! That’s right, there’s no feeling as rewarding as viewing the stunning valley from a position you created on your own. Spend the day climbing, rappelling, drinking tea and chatting with the locals (who still can’t understand why we climb rocks), exploring the surrounding terrain… remember the possibilities are endless with Halong Adventures. We can give you a full agenda to keep you busy for the day, suggest an array of activities to keep you wanting more, or let you introduce new ideas to make our experience together as unique as can be. This is your adventure.
